If you need to quickly and easily sterilize a cutting board, just rub some salt into it with a lemon and you are good to go with no worry of bacteria. Yes it's that simple!
Has your shower curtain turned into something disgusting thanks to mildew? Not to worry. Just wash it in hot soapy water. Next rub a lemon wedge on the stains and place in the sun. By the time the curtain dries, the stains will have disappeared.
Ink stains on the carpet can be all too common with the little ones running around the house. Simply make a paste with lemon juice and cream of tartar, and dab it on the stain. After about 5 minutes or so clean it with a damp cloth.
Need some fresh lemon juice, but don't have a juicer, no problem. First roll the lemon on the counter under your hand. Then microwave it for 10 seconds. Prick it with a toothpick and watch the juice flow right out.
How about a great lemonade recipe while we are talking about lemons.
1-1/2 cups sugar
1 cup hot water
2 cups fresh lemon juice
1 gallon cold water
In a one gallon container, place sugar and hot water. Stir until sugar dissolves. Add lemon juice and water to make one gallon.
So when life throws you some lemons you can make some great lemonade and do some environmentally friendly cleaning at the same time!
